Bad Planning
The essay contrasts the sins of the Generation of the Flood (Dor HaMabul) with the Generation of Dispersion (Dor Haflaga). While the former's sins were 'crimes of passion' defined by the actions themselves, the latter's sin was defined by meticulous, calm planning (Yishuv HaDa'as), which the author argues is spiritually more severe based on the principle that 'hirhurei aveira kashu me'aveira' (sinful thoughts are more difficult than the sin itself).
